LEADING MÚSICA DO CÍRCULO 2023
LEADING MÚSICA DO CÍRCULO is a program for musicians and students that want to lead collaborative and collective musical practices based on voice, body, play, improvisation and human relations, studying and practicing the "Música do Círculo" approach to develop or improve their own particular way of leading the circle.
This course offers you the opportunity to:

Have tools that allow you to create music with any group of people in the most different contexts.

Develop your relationship with your musicality through improvisation, the incorporation of music in your body and a constantly deeper listening of yourself, the other and the whole.

Expand your vision on music and human relations, understanding music as a wide-ranging and transformative phenomena of the human experience, an experience that always happens in relationship.

Get to know techniques, activities and approaches that can be applied both in musical contexts and in groups of "non-musicians".

OVERVIEW OF THE COURSE
SYNCHRONOUS ONLINE COURSE
The online modules are synchronous, an interactive collective experience on zoom, you have to be available at the time of the meeting to participate, nonetheless the meetings will be recorded and available online.
PRACTICE GROUP
From Module 2 onward it is important for participants to have an in-person practice group (weekly or bi-weekly) to put in practice the activities shared throughout the course.
CONTENT
The course has extensive material in PDF and video on the subjects discussed, also videos with homework for the week, feedback moments for the participants, suggestions for more advanced studies and much more.
The planning can also change since the course is alive and based on the direct relation with people, following the same principles of listening, flexibility and fluidity that orient our musical gatherings.

“The 8 elements”

“The 8 inspirational games"
CONTENTS
Focus on play

Study of the essence and vatiations of each game using MdC videos and support material

Hands-on experience with your practie group

Constructive feedback on each participant's leadership
This module will be better taken advantage of by those who can hold a weekly practice group to experience leading the activities in-person.

“Building the flow”
CONTENTS
Focus on flow and movement.

Contact as an intention during the practice

Leading formations in space

Using games, movement, voice and body percussion to alternate the energy of the flow.
This module will be better taken advantage of by those who can hold a weekly or bi-weekly practice group to experience leading the activities in-person.

IN-PERSON IMMERSION
A week in São Paulo, Brazil, at the retreat center "Espaço Natureza Arco-Íris", with around 6 hours a day of official activities and free time for rest or non-official activities.

FACILITATORS
ZUZA GONÇALVES
Musician and teaching artist concentrating particularly in vocal music and body percussion, has explored alternative ways in collective music making throughout the last 20 years. He is and educator at Sesc Vila Mariana's Music Center and is part of the faculty at Bobby McFerrin's Circlesongs School.
RONALDO CRISPIM
Teaching artist and songwriter, has dedicated himself professionally to body percussion since 2007. He was a part of Fernando Barba's study group (creator of Barbatuques) and for 7 years was responsible for the Fritos body music group. He has a degree in Pedagogy of Cooperation and in the Gaia Education program of regenerative culture.
PEDRO CONSORTE
ONLY AT MODULE 4 IMMERSION
Teaching artist of hybrid formation (music and dance), has been a part of the group STOMP for 2 years, is part of the faculty at the International Body Music Festival and has dedicated himself increasingly to processes of learning and human development.
